Coffee cake! I'm not sure where it gets it's name considering there is not any actual coffee in this particular recipe..probably because it pairs so well with a steaming cup of coffee! On Saturdays or Holiday mornings when we don't have anywhere to be and can lounge around the house I love to make a big breakfast! My brother shares my love for breakfast and whenever we get together I always make my coffee cake recipe. My husband loves this recipe too and he recently said that I only make it when my brother is visiting! Oops, ha ha! So now I'm trying to be more inclusive and make it for him too! This recipe is super sweet and not at all healthy...but it's okay to splurge every once in a while right?!

pointy faux collar pattern + adding length to a hem
Hey everyone! Today I'm sharing an easy tutorial for refashioning a T-shirt!! I thrifted this pink shirt for Jensen earlier this fall because it was a nice color (um, pink!) and it was plain so she could wear it with a lot of her printed leggings. But, the first time she wore it I thought it seemed too short when she lifted her arms up and moved around (which, lets just be honest, is a lot since she is an active toddler!) So, I decided I would just add a gathered piece of fabric to the hem! I pulled out this pretty floral fabric that I've had in my stash and thought it would look great paired with the shirt! And because just a gathered hem would be boring, I decided to add a pointy faux collar to the front of the shirt to dress it up! Here's the downloadable pattern I created for the pointy faux collar. I love how this refashion elevated this simple, T-shirt to a more custom looking blouse! So of course I cut out the original tag and added my own label! Ha! This project is very simple and from start to finish only takes about an hour! Yay! Happy Sewing!

Toddler Faux Fur Vest Tutorial + a free downloadable pattern!
Hey all! Happy New Year!! Today I'm sharing this adorable DIY tutorial for making a toddler sized lined, faux fur vest! I have been spotting cute ones in the stores recently but to me they are too expensive! So, armed with two 50% off coupons and some Christmas gift cards (and finally some cold weather here in Texas so Jensen can wear these without sweating!!) I headed to Joann's to purchase some faux fur! I couldn't decide between the leopard or classic black so I just decided to do both! :) FREE downloadable pattern for size 2T-3T here I got enough fabric to make a vest in each color for myself so Jensen and I can totally be twinsies and I also made two itty, bitty baby ones for two of my friends that each had baby girls this past week!!
